Independent Study and Mentorship (ISM) is a rigorous, challenging course offered at Frisco ISD high schools. This program is designed for academically gifted and high achieving students who are juniors or seniors. To join ISM, students must go through a selection and application process.
Students may then select a career or topic of study to research, create an original product design, and a written analysis of research. Additionally, ISM participants will work with a mentor throughout the year to learn more about the their chosen topic.
In ISM, students perform professionalism, time management, effective oral and written communication, interpersonal skills, interviewing, resume writing, and goal setting to prepare students for success in their mentorship experience and after high school.
